Once a year, we take a moment to honor one of those artisans with our annual Irish Experience of the Year award.

This year’s award goes to Sean Daly of Dingle Crystal.  Sean’s masterworks are found on his Green Street shop in Dingle town.  Sean goes through the trouble of taking our clients to his private workshop, where the crystal is all designed and cut by Sean himself, and it has become a staple of our tours to drop by and watch him work.  His clear love of his craft as well as the feedback we’ve received from clients on the experience have made Sean a clear winner this year.

As with any large concert hall, there is often a dearth of parking spots within reasonable walking distance. With a chauffeur from Pro Bus and Car you can arrive on time and unhurried and be confident that your car will be waiting for you when you’re ready to leave.

The crowds at the O2 can be a bit much, and even the VIP section fills up quickly on nights when big players are in town. The O2 is one of our favorites because of its design and history. It was finished in 2008, built over the framework of an existing theatre called The Point. But the O2′s opening marked a turning point for Dublin’s Docklands, bringing a level of elegance and design that, when combined with the nearby Grand Canal Theatre, make the whole area a true cultural centre.

There is so much to say about Killarney National Park that we aren’t sure we can fit it all in to today’s post. But, intrepid as always, we will forge ahead.

For some, the Lakes of Killarney are the quintessential Irish Wilderness. Its an understandable opinion. Spanning 26,000 acres, 2700 feet of elevation, and three tiers of mountains, lakes, woods and waterfalls, the Park is clearly a dream come true for lovers of the natural world. This is rugged territory, within walking distance of the tallest mountains in Ireland (the McGillycuddy’s Reeks.) The Park has three Lakes, The Upper Lake, Muckross Lake (the Middle Lake), and Lough Leane (the Lower Lake).

Pro Bus and Car’s head office in Kenmare is just 15 minutes south of the “top” of the Park. The drive to the Upper Lake is preceded by the impressive Moll’s Gap, but that doesn’t hold a candle to the majesty, yes majesty, of the Ladies’ View.

Pictures don’t do justice to the View, from which you can see the amazing tapestry of the middle and lower Lakes, Muckross, Ross Castle, and Killarney town itself. Afternoon is probably the best time to visit, but you could certainly spend a whole day exploring, say, the shoreline of the Middle Lake, the famous Muckross House, or the woods around Ross Castle (not to mention the castle itself).

Beauty aside, the roads through the Park can be quite narrow and winding at times. To this end, Pro Bus and Car provides chauffeured cars and tours, leaving you free to fully enjoy this experience.
